What is Penile Curvature Surgery?
Surgical applications are fundamental in the treatment of congenital penile curvature and penile curvature caused by advanced Peyronie’s disease.
In the surgical treatment of penile curvature, which is simply done using the Plication Technique, a suture (plication suture) is placed on the penis to apply traction to the opposite side of the curvature and the curvature is corrected. In advanced cases, the graft (patch) obtained from the leg veins or the ready graft (patches) are integrated into the plaque areas formed in the penis and the procedure is performed. In the technique performed with the graft, an elongation in the penis is also obtained.
There is no other application other than these two procedures in the treatment of penile curvature. Filling materials, exercises, correction tools, let alone giving the desired result, may impair the body’s health and should never be used.

Why Does Penile Curvature Occur?
Penile curvatures may be congenital or may be caused by some diseases, surgical developments or traumas experienced in the future.
Penile curvature due to Peyronie’s disease is encountered most frequently in advancing ages. It develops due to calcification that occurs between the blood vessel that provides hardening and the outer sheath. Peyronie’s disease, which usually occurs after the age of 50, first causes pain and then deformity over time. The cause of Peyronie’s disease is not known exactly, and diabetes is thought to trigger this condition. Apart from this, as a result of surgical interventions for the penis, deformity and curvature of the penis may occur.
